Learners Publishing Read and Understand by Betty Kirkpatrick

This is a series of four workbooks written for secondary or intermediae students who want to improve their reading comprehension skills. The 15 reading texts in each of the two lower-level books deal with social and contemporary issues of interest to teenagers. Each of the two upper-leverl books contains 20 passages, covering a range of text types on a variety of highly interesting topics. The Vocabulary study section that comes after each passage makes it convenient for ssssstudents to look up the meanings of words and phrases highlighted in the pasage. Students can hear the reading of all the passages on an accompanying audio.
