Thomas was a gardener; not just any old gardener, but a Master Gardener.He had studied hard and learned a lot about plants so that he could take the test and earn the official title of Master Gardener. He volunteered at events all over the state of Texas, educating children about different areas of gardening like trees and shrubs, flower beds, and vegetable and herb gardens. He gave lectures about the water table, about native plants and conservation efforts, about pollinators like bees and butterflies, and anything else someone needed a lecture about!
